JLC Group Successfully Relocates Nose Docking Station at Heathrow within Tight Deadline

JLC Group has recently completed a challenging project at Heathrow Airport, involving the relocation of an existing ITW 2300 power unit from a nose docking station. The objective was to prepare the hanger for newer aircraft models as part of British Airways' upgrade and refurbishment initiatives.

The project required careful planning and execution due to the units being fixed three meters in the air and the need to maintain their functionality post-removal. We designed a custom-made wheel trolley to accommodate the power units and ensure they remained accessible for ongoing use at the apron level head of stand, independent of the entire aircraft nose docking system.

Originally, a two-week shutdown period was allocated for the task. However, the team at JLC Group faced a tight deadline of only one week to complete the relocation. Despite the time constraint, the project was delivered successfully within the given timeframe and budget, showcasing the company's commitment to efficiency and innovation.

The successful relocation of the power units guarantees their continued functionality and supports British Airways in their efforts to enhance the airport's facilities for accommodating newer aircraft models. The project's timely completion underscores JLC Group's expertise in managing complex airside operations and adapting to evolving industry needs.
